We encrypt the entire laptop or desktop computer(s). This type of encryption provides the highest form of security and privacy. This is mainly because all data and system files are always permanently encrypted. This type of encryption involves pre-boot authentication, which ultimately means that anyone who requires access and use the encrypted system, read and write files, etc., will need to enter the correct password each time before Windows boots (starts). For example, If your laptop was stolen or lost and hard drive removed, the person trying to access your data would not be able to read any of the information on the drive. The data is rendered completely useless to them with out the pre-boot password.
It takes on average 2-3 hours to completely encrypt (times vary depending on amount of existing data, specification of machine, etc) and we recommend to perform the encryption before the employee initially receives their laptop. We provide complete documentation and recovery CD's when we undertake the process of encrypting data belonging to our customers.
