No doubt you’ve heard us discuss online data backup for the last 6 months but there’s another form of backup which also plays an important part to ensure business continuity. This is called broadband redundancy or internet failover. If your broadband goes down, how long can you afford to wait for your Internet Service Provider (ISP) to resolve the matter? Using a simple 3G USB stick from O2, Vodafone, Three or Meteor with a new broadband router which we install, you can instantly switch from your ADSL broadband connection to the USB broadband link. Your company can continue to send & receive emails, browse the web and ultimately, function as a business, without the needless frustration of having to wait for a telecoms engineer to arrive.

Phishing - Don't Become Cyber Bait! |
What is it? Phishing is the act of sending a fraudulent mail to someone under the disguise of a legitimate name or organisation. The intention is to dupe the recipient of the mail into believing they are accessing a bonifide website when they are in fact unintentionally handing over private and confidential information to cyber criminals. |
|
What does it look like? Most current phishing mails are designed to take you to a fake copy of a well established business. They achieve this by asking you to reset your password or to inform you of new banking services. In other cases, they use their own form of irony; “We suspect someone may have tried to illegally access your online banking account in the past 24 hours. Was this you? Please check your account now. Read on here. |
We posted this article which describes an actual phishing scam we received only last week.

Back in 2008, we wrote an article which discussed whether Tape Backup is still a valid form of data storage for business. Over two years on and our opinion has somewhat changed. Generally speaking, we are now informing customers that we do not officially support tape backup if they can answer yes to any of the following statements; |
|
1. You do not actively check the status of your backups.
2. You do not have a structured tape rotation plan.
3. You do not perform a test restore on a regular basis.
